All bedding is included and all our duvets and pillows are non-feather.
What do we have to bring?
Tea towels are provided but you will need to bring your own towels. We provide some washing up liquid, dishwasher powder, washing powder and toilet rolls for your arrival but you will need to bring your own stock.
Can we bring our dog/other pet?
Unfortunately, as we often have children (with allergies etc) on-site we cannot allow pets anywhere on the site.
Where do we go when we arrive?
You will find a map ot the site on the Location & Directions page. A few days before arrival please tell us (we will contact you if we don't hear from you) your estimated arrival time we will then give you the arrangements for acessing your lodge.
Can we smoke in our lodge?
We operate a strict no smoking policy in all of our buildings. You can smoke outside but we would ask to not litter and to be aware of the risk of fire in the forest: make sure your cigarette has been put out and disposed of in lodge bins.
Can we use our mobile phone?
Mobile phone reception can be variable however most people can get a signal somewhere on site - there is also a coin operated public phone box situated near to Reception.
What if we have a problem while we are staying?
In your lodge you will find a brochure in which there is an emergency contact list. There is a copy of this list on the notice board on the building behind the red phone box.
Can we have a camp fire/BBQ?
We provide portable BBQ’s (fuel etc available in Aviemore) and you can reserve our Tipi and use the camp fire circle inside – other than that because of fire risk we do not allow camp fires/BBQ’s anywhere else on our site.
What if all access roads are closed because of snow on arrival day?
This very very rarely happens but if the police close all possible access roads we will be happy to transfer your booking to another suitable available date, you will be asked to pay any price difference for your new dates (or we will refund if your new dates are cheaper) however we will not make the usual £50 booking transfer admin charge.
Can we book activity days when we arrive?
We prefer all bookings to be made well in advance otherwise we probably will not have an instructor available for you and, if we have, the equipment for your preferred activities may be being used by other guests.
Income from self-catering breaks is used to support and expand our outdoor education work with children from Edinburgh City Council schools.
