Glen Feshie is one of the most
beautiful places in the Cairngorm National Park*, a
place of ancient pine forests and sparking rivers nestling
under Creag Mhigeachaidh, the Whispering Mountain.
|
| |
| Lagganlia Lodges, set right at the
heart of this spectacular glen on the banks of the cool,
clear waters of the
River Feshie, offer self-catering family and group accommodation in a small number of lodges ranging
in size from 6 to 20 beds. The lodges are available for
weekend stays (Friday evening to Sunday evening) or stays
from 2 nights upwards during school holidays (there is
often availability at other times,
please contact
us for further information). |
|
The area is steeped
in history - the Duchess of Bedford had a summer retreat
here, Queen Victoria visited and the famous painter
Landseer (Monarch of the Glen) drew inspiration from
the stunning scenery and spectacular wildlife.

This is a place of stillness, where deer and red squirrels visit and osprey fish, yet within 10 minutes drive is the bustling highland village of Aviemore where there is a host of opportunities for summer and winter outdoor activities. Mountain biking, sailing, canoeing, white water rafting, quad biking, shooting, climbing, pony trekking and some of the most scenic golf courses in the country are all available for you to enjoy.. |
| |
| There is also lots for families
to see and do including the Highland Wildlife Park, Landmark
Forest Theme Park, Highland Folk Museum and even a visit
to the local reindeer herd. Why not take a trip up Cairngorm
Mountain - the view is stunning in summer and the skiing
and snowboarding excellent in winter. |
|
| |
From your doorstep you can take
part in the tranquil pursuits of walking, fishing (in
the world renowned salmon rivers), wildlife watching
or just taking in the scenery. During your stay at Lagganlia
you can enjoy free fishing on our stretch of the River
Feshie - please ask for a permit at the time of booking.
|
 |
| |
| Lagganlia is also an ideal base
for day trips to explore all that the scenic Highlands
have to offer: follow the whisky trail and sample the
“Water of Life", learn about the Highland's turbulent
history visiting castles and the scenes of the dramas
of the Jacobite rebellion, visit beautiful Loch Ness (and
do some monster watching!) or perhaps even travel to the
stunning Isle of Skye. |
| |
|
Lagganlia Centre for Outdoor Education also provides high quality outdoor adventure activity breaks for groups of children and adults. If you would like to know more about our activity breaks please visit our main website www.lagganlia.com.
